Watching Pelicans
What a view they must have from high in the sky. I wonder what it’s like to have a birds eye view? A little glimpse of the angle that God sees when He looks down upon us.
SPLASH ! They dive again and again and again. Most of the time bringing up a small fish in their beak. It’s quiet on the water during the morning feeding. Some seagulls cawing , but mainly the splashes are the only sound.
It occurs to me these big birds don’t worry about their food source. Innately, they know there’s endless amounts of fish to eat. They don’t stop diving. And when they’re full, I guess they move on.
Birds don’t worry about provision. They’re simple minded and operate off instinct . Instinct. Hmmm that’s a word. Where is our instinct ? Our instinct to know that God will keep providing just as He provides for the birds of the air? Why do we, as humans, even wonder if He cares less for us than the Pelicans that live on the Sea?
Matthew 6:25-28 says:
Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? “
Watching pelicans is a reminder to me that Our God is in control. HE alone is our provider. May we pray for deeper trust that becomes Instinct. Instinct that we walk in a way knowing God will never stop providing . Instinctually knowing that HE is our Source.
He loves the birds He’s created. But doesn’t He love us so much more ? Of course He does!! He created humans in His own image (Genesis 1:27) and then sent His own Son to die for us (John 3:16). It makes perfect sense that a Creator who loves us that much, will never stop caring. Never stop providing.
May we rest in the Peace of God – in Jehovah Shalom- to care for us more, than He cares for the birds.

He’s still doing Fresh new thingsYou see, God never stops moving . His spirit never stops moving . HE DOESN’T STOP. But what has He gotten us to do right now ? Stop. Everything is cancelled . But GOD isn’t cancelled ! His Love isn’t cancelled. His provision isn’t...
